ALEX FORT –
clinical Psychologist
Psychology that meets you where you’re at.
Meet Alex, our warm and highly skilled psychologist. Alex works collaboratively across all ages and stages, creating a supportive and non-judgemental environment where people can explore concerns at their own pace. Her approach is grounded, thoughtful, and person-centred, helping clients feel heard, understood, and supported from the very first session.
Alex values therapy as a collaborative process and takes the time to understand each person’s unique experiences, needs, and goals. She creates space for curiosity, reflection, and growth, without pressure, expectation, or rushing the process.

You do not need a doctor’s referral to see Alex privately. Please note that Medicare rebates are not available for private (self-referred) sessions.
To access Medicare rebates through the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative, you will need a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP. With an eligible MHCP, clients can receive a rebate of $145.25 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Clients are responsible for the full fee at the time of consultation, with Medicare rebates claimed after the appointment. Please email us your referral or relevant paperwork prior to your first session.
Psychological services are provided by registered psychologists in accordance with the Psychology Board of Australia’s professional standards and ethical guidelines.
Telehealth consultations are available Australia-wide. Service availability and eligibility may vary depending on location, practitioner type, and regulatory requirements.
The Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. (AAPi) recommend a fee of $318 for a standard consultation. To support greater access, Same Wellness sets fees below this recommendation where possible. Our fees are independently set based on the cost of delivering care and allow us to sustain our practice while continuing to provide high-quality support.
Medicare rebates may be available for eligible clients with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) prepared by a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician. Eligibility and rebate amounts are set by Medicare and may change. Clients are responsible for the full fee at the time of consultation, after which Medicare rebates can be claimed.
You may be eligible for a Medicare benefit to subsidise this cost. Alex is a registered Medicare Provider to deliver psychological services, so you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate of $96.65 per session (leaving a gap payment out of pocket after Medicare benefit). Note: Session fee is to be provided in full by the client at the time of appointment, for which a Medicare benefit can subsequently be claimed (in most cases immediately following the appointment).
For you to be eligible for a Medicare rebate, a referral must be received directly from your treating doctor such as your General Practitioner (GP), Paediatrician or Psychiatrist with a current Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) prior to your first appointment. Your MHTP will require review typically after the 6th session; your treating doctor and psychologist will liaise to determine if additional sessions are required. Individuals may be able to access Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year (1 January to 31 December) under their MHTP.
Psychological services are provided by registered psychologists who comply with the Psychology Board of Australia’s professional standards and ethical guidelines.
